Computer Access and Augmentative Communication Lab

In the Computer Access and Augmentative Communication Lab, the technological needs of our students are evaluated and they are provided accessible means to benefit from the technology. Using a variety of software, hardware, augmentative communication devices and environmental control units, students develop written and verbal communication and problem solving skills. Students actively participate in the classroom, pre-vocational and social settings with the use of technology  which enrich their lives and help prepare them for future employment.

Job Quest

The high school Job Quest Program provides a community based work experience for our students. Students receive ongoing training with a job coach at community sites such as: CVS Pharmacy, Clifton Public Library, Clifton Recycling Center, Shop Rite Supermarket and K-Mart in Botony Village. The goal of the program is to provide students with realistic vocational training which assist them in making career choices in the future.

Life Skills Program

The Life Skills Program is an innovative program where students venture into the community utilizing the skills they have been practicing in their classroom and therapy sessions. Students visit malls, grocery stores, laundromats, beauty salons, museums and movie theaters. They take public transportation whenever possible. Communication, money management, problem solving and community mobility are integrated into each trip.
